i'd rather disappear than love myself (2022) visualizes the effects of impossible purity standards set on women by society, and the deep influence these standards have on women's perception of themselves.
Sitting alone in the dark after having hidden herself out of feelings of shame, this vulnerable moment where she feels unworthy as being seen by the viewer is captures as she pleads to a higher power for change.
The feathers and thin veil that hide her appear light and fragile but weighs down heavily, emphasizing the importance of one's inner perception when analyzing self-worth.
This artwork explores the common experience of having one's worth being placed on your body, and those moments where it seems easier to ask to change completely than to learn to love yourself.
